How it works

What people use it for

Diagrams and architecture

A process flow, a service architecture, a sequence diagram, a database ER diagram. Sketching it by hand is faster than describing it in words in a ticket.

Plans and work

A kanban board, a roadmap, a Gantt chart, a sprint plan. The checkboxes are real: tick one and everybody who has the board open sees it.

Meetings and discussions

A retro, a brainstorm, a wall of stickies, a SWOT. Everybody draws at once and sees everybody else's cursor — the call stops being one person taking dictation.

Teaching and explaining

A mind map of a topic, lecture notes, a worked problem, a diagram for a class. Share the board with a link; nobody has to register to look at it.

What it does

Levels inside blocks

Double-click a block and you are inside it, on a clean board. The trail along the top says where you are and takes you back up in one press.

Together, in real time

Several people draw on one board and see each other's cursors. Edits merge by themselves — two people can drag the same block and nothing is lost.

Over 40 ready-made layouts

Flowchart, mind map, kanban, ER diagram, Gantt, SWOT, funnel, screen wireframe. Dropped in with one click, then edited like anything else you drew.

An AI can draw it for you

Describe the task to Claude or any other agent and it draws the board itself — on the free plan too. The server works out the layout, so the agent never needs coordinates.

Common questions

Do I need an account to start drawing?
No. The board opens straight away and lives in your browser. You only register to keep it on the server and invite other people.
Is it free?
Yes, and no card is asked for: drawing, working together and view links are not limited at all. The free plan holds 5 boards and lets an agent call the API 1000 times a day — enough to work with and enough to judge it by. A paid plan lifts those limits.
Can two of us — or a whole team — draw at once?
Yes. Send colleagues the board link: you will see each other's cursors, and edits merge by themselves even when you drag the same block at the same moment.
Is there anything to install?
No. Sketchbord runs in the browser on a computer and on a phone; there is nothing to install and nothing to update.
How is it different from Miro and Excalidraw?
A diagram here looks hand-sketched rather than drafted, and any block can have a board of its own inside it — so a large system unfolds level by level instead of sprawling across one endless canvas.
